From Gold Mountain Coffees:
FIGHTING POVERTY THROUGH SPECIALTY COFFEE

We're a group of coffee farmers from Nicaragua fighting poverty through high-cupping specialty coffee. From our washed to naturals to double-fermentation carbonic maceration wine yeast naturals, our coffees win awards for roasters every year. Our ripeness team members sleep on every member farm during picking to ensure quality and traceability. After meticulous picking, we spend inordinate efforts on sorting—before depulping, after fermenting, as coffee dries on 2,000 raised beds, on density sorters, with light sensors, and by hand. Our Q graders cup every component of every coffee we ship to our US and European warehouses (customs-cleared), and every coffee is traceable down to the sugar content of cherries and weather on each farm during days of picking.

WE'RE THE FARMERS

NEXT-LEVEL TRACEABILITY. We do our own exporting, importing, and customs clearing into the US and Europe so economically-challenged farmers in our group can excel without middlemen. We take data for every day-lot on every farm, including sugar content, photos of ripeness levels of cherries, weather, variety percentages, and more. We don't just comply with EU anti-deforestation requirements—we went so far as to buy a rainforest just to protect it. We're exhilarated when we get notes from bubble gum to grenadine to jasmine because those notes impact lives and help us protect the environment.
